One of the requirements for Marriage in
the Catholic Church is for each engaged couple to attend either Engaged
Encounter or Pre-Cana. Through a series of presentations and conversations,
engaged couples are invited to consider both theoretical and practical issues
which will confront and enrich their transition to married life.
The sessions are designed to assist
couples in asking the right questions, as they seriously ponder the Sacrament
of Marriage. We offer Pre-Cana at our Parish twice a year, usually the first
Sunday afternoon in November and the first Sunday afternoon in March. Because
of the way we’ve designed our parish’s Pre-Cana sessions, the actual time
commitment for those who work on our Parish’s Pre-Cana team is approximately 12
hours a year.
Father Jack is the priest moderator,
and we currently have five couples on the Pre-Cana team, but we are always
looking for new people to join in this very rewarding (and fun!) ministry.
Please contact Matt and Liz Kurtz
(732-238-0978) if you’d like to become involved with Pre-Cana, or with any
questions you may have.
